TRAMANCO Pty Ltd is a family-owned and operated Australian business headquartered in Brisbane, with an established network of dealers throughout Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia. The company is led by full-time working directors Roger and Judith Sack, who also retain ownership of the business.

Founded in 1975 by Roger Sack as a sole operator, TRAMANCO has grown to employ 15 staff members in Brisbane and maintains relationships with several full-time sub-contractors. All manufacturing and installation work is carried out by TRAMANCO’s qualified workshop staff under the supervision of the engineering and design team.

Roger Sack has played a pioneering role in the Australian transport equipment industry, notably as the first to introduce a purpose-built wheelchair loader to the Australian market in 1982. His involvement in the industry dates back to 1965, and he continues to actively contribute as a member of various Standards Australia committees focused on developing safety standards for disabled passengers, including AS 2942 and AS 3856. Roger also represents the Commercial Vehicle Industry Association of Australia (C.V.I.A.A.) on these committees and is a member of the Commercial Vehicle Industry Association of Queensland (C.V.I.A.Q.), where he has served in executive roles and led the formation of its Technical Sub-Committee to address the development and revision of Australian Design Rules (A.D.R.) for commercial vehicles.

TRAMANCO supplies, manufactures, and installs a range of purpose-built products, including:

  • BRAUN wheelchair loaders and BOOMERAMP® ramps for both vehicle-mounted and static applications
  • Special tailgate loaders for trucks and trailers
  • Heavy Duty Rail gates (HDRs) for tailgate loading

The company’s electronics division has developed innovative solutions such as a push-button radio remote control system for wheelchair loaders, ramps, tailgate loaders, and electronic weighing systems. TRAMANCO also offers static installations of wheelchair loaders and ramps, including installations at private residences.

TRAMANCO was awarded the contract to supply wheelchair loaders for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, successfully installing 250 units in Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans and 11 units in Mercedes Benz 25-seater buses operating in Australia. Notably, the project was completed two months ahead of schedule.

As the Australasian distributor for BRAUN ABILITY wheelchair loaders and Q’STRAINT wheelchair tie-down and occupant restraint systems, TRAMANCO provides a Service Support Agreement encompassing regular maintenance and 24/7 breakdown call-out services through its Australia-wide dealer network.

TRAMANCO is committed to quality, certified to AS/NZS ISO 9001:1994 and AS/NZS 10542, and holds Quality Endorsed Company status with Q.A.S. Certificate No. 10969.

For accessible equipment solutions, TRAMANCO invites clients to contact their knowledgeable staff, who are dedicated to finding the right solution for every requirement.

TRAMANCO Pty Ltd has been involved in On-Board Weighing Systems since 1978. Drawing on this experience, the company has developed its own range of Electronic Weighing and Data Logging Systems for trucks and trailers.

The Australian-made CHEK-WAY® ELIMINATOR Electronic Weighing System originated in the late 1980s and has evolved from providing basic gross weights with two channels to supporting multi-function systems with up to sixteen channels.

This product was developed in response to the road transport industry’s need for greater productivity, profitability, safety, and in-service compliance. With support from transport operators, TRAMANCO has addressed many challenges associated with On-Board Weighing, earning the product its “ELIMINATOR” moniker.

The CHEK-WAY® ELIMINATOR is used across a broad spectrum of applications, including:

  • Container trailers
  • B-doubles and Super-B’s
  • Road trains
  • Truck and dog trailer combinations
  • Silage haul out trailers
  • Weighbridges
  • Logging trucks and trailers
  • Bulk haulage and sugar cane trailers
  • Industrial waste vehicles
  • Crane scales
  • Tipping trucks and trailers
  • Mining industry vehicles
  • Bulk feed tankers, livestock vehicles, general freight, fuel tankers, and more

CHEK-WAY® Systems capture weight data from air or hydraulic pressure transducers connected to suspension systems, or from load cells mounted on vehicles. The system displays nett or gross weights for each axle group and total weights on a dual-line, back-lit LCD meter with four individual sections.

With a hand-held remote receiver and a transceiver kit installed in the vehicle cabin, operators can monitor loading from a safe distance (up to 50m), as weights are displayed simultaneously on both the remote and cab-mounted meters.

TRAMANCO has developed a range of software programs tailored for different applications, including:

  • Gross/Nett/Total calculations
  • Load/Delivery (L.D.)
  • Haul Out Trailer (H.O.T.)
  • Front End Lift (F.E.L.)
  • Rear End Lift (R.E.L.)
  • Crane scales
  • Auto Zero Tracking (A.Z.T.)
  • INS COM® for mass management suspension compliance and conformance testing
  • GPS interface
  • I.A.P. and P.B.S. compliance
  • Higher Mass Limits (H.M.L.) compliance
  • Roll-Over Warning (R.O.W.)
  • Tamper Evidence Software (T.E.S.)
  • Custom software for individual requirements

All system information is date and time stamped and can be downloaded to a laptop or printer for hard copy records, or transmitted with GPS coordinates over the mobile network for proof of delivery and management purposes. Data is securely stored in the built-in DATA-LOG® and cannot be deleted without specific instructions and a password.

CHEK-WAY® supports a range of peripheral devices, including printers, transceivers, modems, RFID readers, on-board PCs, trip recorders, GPS units, barcode scanners, driver ID, radio remote transceivers, and hand-held remote displays via radio link.

TRAMANCO was the first to combine on-board weighing with data logging in a format suitable for tamper evidency under the I.A.P., and the system remains the only true digital, multiplexed solution capable of handling up to sixteen channels with a single meter.

Key innovations include:

  • Dual-line backlit LCD display with four sections, resistant to sunlight fade
  • Calibration stored per vehicle, not in the meter
  • Printer data including operator name, vehicle serial number, timestamp, nett and gross weights
  • Unique calibration data via RAW-DATA®
  • No data loss when downloading to laptop, printer, or GPS unit
  • Unique truck and trailer identifiers
  • AUTO-I.D. and AUTO-CAL features for I.A.P. compliance

CHEK-WAY® systems can be tailored from a simple single-channel setup to complex configurations with sixteen channels, RFID tag collection, electronic run sheets, and on-board PCs with GPS. TRAMANCO adjusts software to meet individual or fleet requirements, maintaining the same hardware to avoid planned obsolescence.

The systems address in-service compliance for both air and steel spring suspensions, as well as driver ID for fatigue management, with tamper evidence as standard. CHEK-WAY® is compatible with various load cells and pressure transducers, allowing for cost-effective upgrades from existing systems.

TRAMANCO has designed, manufactured, developed, and proven CHEK-WAY® hardware and software across a wide range of Australasian applications, prioritising simplicity and reliability.

CHEK-WAY® gives operators, owners, and drivers complete control over productivity and profitability in real time during loading and unloading. The RAW-DATA® feature enables instant or remote monitoring and accurate auditing as needed. A plug-and-play interface is available for GPS integration.

All system access attempts are automatically recorded with incremental numerical and time/date stamps, and this function is securely maintained to prevent tampering.

The CHEK-WAY® ELIMINATOR is a modular system. Users can contact TRAMANCO for software changes and add hardware as required, making it possible to upgrade any scale system with CHEK-WAY® for improved data capture and management.

TRAMANCO serves the entire Australasian market and has achieved lasting success with the CHEK-WAY® ELIMINATOR due to its proven effectiveness.
